Antique 1899 Sterling Silver Trophy Cup with Antler Handles

Antique 1899 Sterling Silver Trophy Cup with Antler Handles

A gorgeous antique circa 1899 solid sterling silver trophy with two handles crafted from natural deer antler! The cup is been engraved on the front side by hand to read: Alderman Alfred S. Norris From his Friends November 15. 1899

From my research is appears Alfred S. Norris was an alderman in Newton, Massachusetts around 1890s-1910s.

This cup is in amazing condition for its age, especially considering the body is soft sterling silver. There are no dents or damage, the Sterling has polished up on the front side beautifully. The antler handles are still secure and without cracks or splits. The only issue on the entire cup is a slight one inch long indentation on the backside, this is barely noticeable you can only see it when you're looking closely for issues. Made of Sterling silver by Shreve, Crump and Low, as marked on the base.

The cup measures nearly 5 1/2 inches tall to the top of the antler handles by 9 inches wide from handle to handle at the widest point
