Antique 1900 English Silver Plate Dome Awarded for Best Clydesdale Horse

595.00

An absolutely stunning antique circa 1900 English heavy silver plate platter cover or meat dome, engraved to read: Galston Farmer's Society 1900 Champion Cup Presented by His Grace The Duke of Portland For Best Animal of the Clydesdale Breed Confined Won by George Alston of Loudounhill Darvel

This piece is in amazing condition for its age, absolutely no dents or damage of any kind, only some small surface marks and light scratches. It has polished up to a beautiful high shine! The engraving is still crisp and easily read, with no wear to the plating around it. This piece was clearly very well taken care of over the years, and it is one of my absolute favorite trophy finds to date!

Measures approximately 16.25 inches long by 12.5 inches wide by 11.25 inches tall to the top of the handle (interior height is 8.5 inches)
